Lulu's Reset
A simple movement and breath-based routine that helps children navigate big feelings, reconnect with their bodies, and take the next small step forward.
Start With You
Your reset comes first.
Before helping your child reset, begin with a pause of your own.
One breath.
One moment to reconnect.
One opportunity to respond with intention.
Young children develop emotional regulation through repeated experiences of co-regulation with caring adults. Taking a moment to pause can help you connect calmly with your child before guiding them through what comes next.
Connection With Your Child
Connection before correction.
When children are overwhelmed, more words are often not what they need.
Before teaching, correcting, or solving the problem, calmly connect with your child, help them feel seen, safe, and supported.
Connection creates the foundation for working through the moment together.
What Makes Lulu's Reset Different?
Movement Is Part of the Reset
Children don't have to sit perfectly still to work through big feelings.
Lulu's Reset combines simple movement, breathing, and sensory engagement to help children
pause, notice what they're feeling, and reconnect with the present moment.
Movement is woven throughout the routine.
The 4 Steps
Pause
Flap your flippers slowly like a sea turtle.
Slow your body and create a little space.
Feel
Hand on heart.
Hand on belly.
Take a slow belly breath with a longer exhale and notice what's happening inside.
Check In
Crab Claw Taps.
Tap gently on your temples—or wherever feels comfortable—while counting to ten.
Use the gentle taps to notice where the feeling is showing up in your body.
Move
Wiggle.
Stretch.
Walk.
Run.
Jump.
Choose a movement that helps you reconnect with your body and get ready for what comes next.
What Comes Next?
The Lulu Step
Resetting isn't the finish line.
It's part of figuring out how to move forward.
When your child is ready, ask:
What's your Lulu Step?
A Lulu Step is one small, purposeful action a child can take next.
That might mean trying again, asking for help, slowing down, changing the approach, taking a break and returning, or choosing another way.
Different moments need different strategies.

Small Steps Matter
Resilience isn't built in a single moment.
It develops through repeated experiences when children learn to navigate challenges, setbacks, mistakes, big feelings, and everyday life.
Every pause.
Every reset.
Every small step.
Each is another opportunity for children to learn more about themselves and practice figuring out how to move forward.
